WKBN’s Josh Frketic to be Master of Ceremonies for the 10th Anniversary of the Wine for Hope Event on April 29th

The Hope Foundation is happy to announce that Josh Frketic, WKBN Sports Anchor to be MC at upcoming 10th anniversary of the Wine for Hope scheduled for Friday, April 29th at Waypoint 4180 in Canfield, Ohio.

Josh came to the Valley from Bluefield, West Virginia where he was the weekend anchor for nearly two years.

Here in Youngstown Josh started as a VJ, but became the weekend weatherman for several months before moving to sports where he is an anchor and reporter. He grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh and is an avid Pittsburgh Penguins, Steelers and Pirates fan.

Josh graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh where he was the play-by-play man for the Pioneers Men’s and Women’s basketball teams. There he won a national award for best sports play by play from the IBS. He was also the Myron Cope scholarship winner as a senior.

Presented by Huntington Bank & GBS and in association with WKBN First News “Caring for Our Community” initiative, the 2022 H.O.P.E. Award for Lifetime Achievement will be announced at the 10th Anniversary of the Decade of Hope | Wine for Hope on Friday, April 29th at Waypoint 4180 in Canfield, Ohio. These individuals will be recognized for their efforts of donating their time and resources to improve the quality of life of children and families in our community.

  • Mary Anne Russo – Hubbard Public Library

  • Delphine Baldwin-Casey – Retired Youngstown Police Sergeant
  • Brandon Perry – Founder and CEO of City Kids Care
  • Holly Welch – Assistant Elementary Principal in Austintown Local Schools
  • Amy Zell – LOSS Community Services & Whole Life Services

Guests will enjoy a full dinner, wine tasting in a commemorative glass, entertainment, and an awards ceremony. All proceeds from the event, including a silent auction and raffle baskets, will help better the lives of chronically and terminally ill children in the Mahoning Valley.
