Holly began her education career in 2001 after earning her BS in Science degree from Geneva College. She went on to earn her MS in Education from Youngstown State University in 2008, currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at YSU where she is set to graduate on May 7.  As a teacher, she taught high school science and biotechnology for Youngstown City Schools, earning thousands of dollars in grants for students. For the past nine years she has been an administrator, curriculum supervisor, principal and PK Director for the Youngstown City Schools, Warren City Schools and now Austintown Local Schools. She has also taught Adult Education for EGCC’s Nursing Program and was an EMT for Medic Rescue.

She has earned numerous community and educational awards, including but not limited to the following: Youngstown State University’s Outstanding Alumni Award, United Way of Trumbull County’s Advocate Award, Mahoning Valley’s Athena Award, Mahoning Valley Young Professionals 25 Under 35, Ohio Teacher of the Year-state finalist, Ohio’s Outstanding Teacher in Community Service for the Association for Career and Technical Education (Special Needs Division), Martha Holden Jennings’ Excellence in Science Award, National Society of High School Scholars’ Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction, Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh’s Keivin Burns Outstanding High School Science Teacher and WFMJ/Giant Eagle Class Act Teacher. Holly loves to volunteer her time for Junior Achievement, where she’s on its executive board, St. John’s Church, Special Olympics, Big Brothers & Big Sisters and various animal charities throughout Mahoning and Trumbull counties. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Delta Kappa Gamma and OAESA. Holly strives to make a positive impact on her community, especially for children.
