The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is proud to recognize its 2018 H.O.P.E. Award for Lifetime Achievement recipient Kathy Duke.

As president and Northern region leader for the Trumbull County area for Mercy Health – Youngstown, she is s responsible for driving the strategic vision for quality, service, operations and growth across the region’s northern communities, in alignment with Mercy Health’s Accountable Care Organization Model.

This includes the development and execution of the organization’s integrated network of patient-centered care through St. Joseph Warren Hospital, St. Joseph Outpatient Surgery Center, Howland Medical Center, Tod Miner Emergency Department, Andover Emergency Department and physician practices.

She has served on several boards throughout the Valley and led the partnership between St. Joseph Warren Hospital and Akron Children’s Hospital, Mahoning Valley to improve accessfor pediatric care in Trumbull County.

Kathy is involved with multiple community groups, including serving as a member of the Executive Committee of Trumbull 100 as well as a member of the boards of directors for Kent State Trumbull Campus; Northeast Ohio Adoption Agency, of which she adoptive mother of three children and the Warren Education, Cultural and Civic Foundation.

She is an inspiring part of the Warren Community, working with local elementary schools and their pen-pal and reading programs, also supplying those less fortunate with school supplies and other needs. She formed a partnership with Catholic Charities during recent holidays in order to supply nearly 150 people with Christmas gifts, much need personal items and supplies.

She has also collaborated with various community groups and organizations in order to bring health services to those that are less fortunate.

In 2016, she was the recipient of the prestigious Athena Award, which recognizes “Outstanding Professional Women in the Valley.”
