Softball
Charity Event set this Summer
The Hope Foundation of the
Mahoning Valley & Valley Home Health Care will present
the Softball Game of Hope (SGOH); a community leader/celebrity
charity softball game that benefits and supports chronically/terminally
ill children in the Valley so that they may have the experiences
generally afforded healthy children.
The event, in conjunction
with television stations 27 First News/FOX Youngstown &
WYTV-MyYTV, and radio stations 93.3 "The Wolf;"
1390 WNIO & News Radio 570 WKBN, will take place on Saturday,
August 7, 2010 inside Eastwood Field (Niles, OH).
Also sponsored by UAW Local
1112 & 1714 from GM-Lordstown, Buffalo Wild Wings and
the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, first pitch is slated for 4:00
p.m. Following the charity event, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers
(the Cleveland Indians' Class A, Short Season affiliate) will
play the Aberdeen IronBirds (a Baltimore Orioles affiliate)
at 7:05 p.m.
Teams are comprised of local
leaders and community volunteers from the Valley who will
square off against each other in a friendly game of softball,
with the draft of the two teams on Monday, July 19 @ 5:30
inside Buffalo Wild Wings in Niles, Ohio. Tickets are $5 in
advance at www.hopemv.org or $7 at the door. Children 12 and
under eat free (slice of pizza, chips and a soft drink) and
donations are currently being accepted!
The mission of the Hope Foundation
of the Mahoning Valley's is the furtherance of charitable
and financial support and volunteer services to and for chronically
and/or terminally ill children on a local and regional level.
