Music For Hope is Scheduled for May 19 at O’Donalds in Austintown

(Youngstown, OH) – Having a child who suffers from a chronic or terminal illness, or has sustained an injury, is difficult enough without having to worry about the financial costs that come with it. However, those costs are an unfortunate reality for many families in the Mahoning Valley.

To help raise money for local families, The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley and Dan Martin, anchor and video journalist for WKBN/WYTV, are hosting Music for Hope at O’Donalds in Austintown, at 6000 Mahoning Ave. The event is scheduled for Friday, May 19 from 9 pm to 1 am. A $2 donation will be collected at the door to help the efforts of The Hope Foundation.

Live music with Martin, Brian Adams and friends begins around 9 pm. Learn more here.

The event is part of It’s All for the Kids Awareness Day. In an effort to raise awareness to the financial struggle of families with children who are ill or injured, The Hope Foundation worked with State Senate Minority Leader, Joe Schiavoni, D-33, to establish May 15 as It’s All for the Kids Awareness Day. It was introduced as companion legislation with Ohio HB 580, which Gov. John Kasich signed into law in December 2016.

“By raising local awareness, as well as on the state and national levels, It’s All for the Kids Awareness Day focuses on the issues that families face when caring for a sick child,” says The Hope Foundation’s founder and executive director, Anthony Spano. “The idea is to turn that increased awareness into community support and action.”

The Hope Foundation is part of a national network that supports It’s All for the Kids Awareness Day. Other organizations include the Diocese of Youngstown and The Memby Memorial for Cancer in Youngstown, Camp Virginia Jaycees, Blue Ridge, Va.; The Parker Foundation for Health & Happiness, McKinney, Texas; Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, Oxford, Ohio.
